Naomi Jiyoung Bang was
born in Providence, Rhode Island. She is the third generation of
lawyers in
her family, following in the footsteps of her mother and grandfather who
graduated Seoul National University Law School.
Ms. Bang graduated from
Northwestern University where she also spent her third year abroad
studying international politics at the Sorbonne and Institut d’Etudes
Politiques. Thereafter, she obtained her Masters of Science and Juris
Doctor from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and
Georgetown Law Centre in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Bang has extensive experience
in civil and criminal litigation and federal litigation of certain
immigration matters. She
was appointed Assistant United States Attorney in the District of
Columbia from 1989 to 1992, worked at several large national law firms –
developing the immigration practice at Sidley & Austin’s DC branch, was
the deputy director of a federal government agency, and spent three
years in Southeast Asia on rule of law projects sponsored by the United
States Agency for International Development. Prior to joining Quan,
Burdette & Perez, she served as the founding member of a New York - New
Jersey firm.
Ms. Bang has been
licensed since 1986 and is currently licensed in Texas, District of
Columbia, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and is admitted in several
federal courts throughout the country.
