Sarah Howard Ramia was born in San
Antonio, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Literature
(Portuguese concentration) from the University of Texas at Austin in
2001, where she was a member of the Phi Eta Sigma honor society. Upon
graduation, Mrs. Ramia continued her language and cultural studies in
Salvador, Brazil. Prior to studying law, Sarah accepted a position in
Seoul, South Korea teaching English as a Second Language.
Mrs. Ramia received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston
Law Center in 2006. She was a member of the Student Bar Association,
International Law Society, Hispanic Law Students Association, and a
participant in the Hippard Mock Trial Competition. During law school,
Mrs. Ramia worked as an immigration law clerk with a local Houston firm,
served as a summer clerk in Sao Paulo, Brazil and completed an
internship at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San Jose,
Costa Rica.
Mrs. Ramia is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas and the
American Immigration Lawyers Association. In addition to being fluent in
Spanish and Portuguese, she is conversant in Italian.
